Do you have experience supervising a team of professionals in offender release computations? Join our professional Time Computation team leadership. The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a highly qualified individual with outstanding communication and strong leadership skills. This position holds a critical first‑line supervisory role overseeing TCU staff operations, training, and performance. It requires knowledge of sentencing laws to ensure the accuracy and legal integrity of time‑sensitive inmate release processes and sentencing data, preventing errors, liberty interest violations, and litigation.
The supervisor interprets multi‑jurisdictional sentencing orders, conducts daily audits of inmate sentences upon intake, manages daily workflows, and monitors staff performance. In addition, reviews and responds to correspondence regarding information on time computations, processes, and procedures.
- Provides first‑line direct supervision, training, work performance evaluations, corrective actions, tracks record work production and quality levels
- Responsible for a wide variety of complex time computation functions and administrative tasks, including generating correspondence and reports
- Receives, tracks, and responds to requests regarding inmate time computation and release eligibility
- Reads, interprets, and understands warrants and court documents issued to ensure correct sentence structure for accurate and precise release dates
- Ensures assignments and completions are handled appropriately and in a timely manner
- Issues initial release authorizations to units and agencies holding ADCRR offenders
- Assigns daily work to staff and performs follow‑up action as needed to ensure staff are meeting performance requirements and expectations
- Performs a wide variety of audits of a complex nature
- Assists staff with inquiries when needed to provide clarification on sentencing information
- Attends staff meetings
- Trains and assists in the development of and execution of training for other ADCRR, court, probation, county attorney, and other law enforcement agencies' staff
- Resolves routine inquiries by phone and written communication, ensuring information provided is accurate and eligible to be released to the requestor
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Federal and State laws, Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS), and ADCRR policies and procedures
- Rules, regulations, and time computation procedures pertaining to offender releases
- Methods of releases, time computations, and techniques
- Current and historical law pertaining to sentence structures and court decisions to ensure accurate and timely releases of offenders from ADCRR
- Principles and practices of management and supervision
- Principles and practices of releases and time computation procedures
- Computer usage and various software programs (Microsoft Office and Google suites)
- General mathematics
- Business English including grammatical formatting
- Supervising and evaluating the work of subordinates
