AboutThe Role
Open Works is seeking a Director of Sales Development to lead and scale our Sales Development Representative (SDR) function and drive consistent, high‑quality pipeline growth.
In this role, you'll be responsible for building and optimizing the systems, processes, and standards that turn inbound and outbound interest into qualified opportunities for our Major Account Executives (MAEs). You'll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to ensure smooth handoffs, strong qualification, and a predictable pipeline engine.
Initially, this role will lead a team of approximately four SDRs, with expected growth as the program scales.
This role is ideal for a strategic, execution‑minded leader who enjoys building scalable systems, developing talent, and improving how revenue teams operate.
What You'll Do- Lead and scale the SDR function to drive consistent, high‑quality opportunity creation
- Own and optimize inbound routing, speed‑to‑lead standards, and SDR‑to‑MAE handoffs
- Develop and refine inbound and outbound prospecting processes and plays
- Build and maintain messaging, sequencing, and outreach best practices across channels
- Establish clear qualification standards and stage discipline
- Partner with Marketing and Rev Ops to improve lead quality, workflows, data hygiene, and reporting
- Implement structured coaching, call review, and performance management practices
- Create onboarding, enablement, and development programs for SDRs
- Track performance metrics from activity through opportunity and translate insights into improvement plans
- Support long‑term capacity planning and team growth
- 5+ years of experience in sales development or revenue generation
- Experience leading and scaling SDR teams
- Proven ability to build or improve pipeline generation programs
- Strong operational and process‑building mindset
- Experience partnering with AEs/MAEs, Marketing, and Rev Ops
- Experience working in Hub Spot, including routing, workflows, and reporting (or equivalent CRM operations ownership)
- Familiarity with sales engagement and enablement platforms (Seismic, Gong, or similar)
- Experience building repeatable inbound and outbound outreach programs, including sequencing, messaging, and multi‑channel engagement
- Comfortable developing playbooks, onboarding programs, and performance standards
- Familiarity with prospecting tools such as Zoom Info and Linked In Sales Navigator
- Experience supporting multi‑channel sales motions across SDR‑ and MAE‑owned accounts
- Understanding of pipeline reporting, attribution, and capacity planning
- Lead and shape a critical revenue function with high visibility and impact
- Work cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations leadership, including direct partnership with the CRO and executive team
- Contribute to projects and initiatives that directly shape Open Works' success
