Purpose Statement
The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehousing, delivery services, and distribution center operations; overseeing assigned personnel; providing operational support and information to stakeholders; and scheduling work assignments within established time frames and standards.

Reports to: Director of Purchasing
- Collaborate with Purchasing to develop order requirements for inventory and assist with development of specifications and evaluation of vendor products.
- Conduct physical inventories (e.g., annual inventory of supplies and equipment) to verify stock, identify losses, and manage order placement for replacement.
- Coordinate with district personnel, internal and external customers to implement and maintain services and programs.
- Direct department functions (mail room, sorting and distribution of surplus goods, receipt of technology equipment) to prioritize project deadlines, ensure optimal personnel utilization, and comply with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Inspect Distribution Center equipment to maintain safe operating condition.
- Manage Distribution Center to provide required materials and services, maintain a clean and organized layout, and ensure a safe work environment.
- Monitor fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity to ensure accurate allocation of expenses, tracking of assets, generate revenue, and adhere to budget limits and fiscal practices.
- Participate as a member or facilitator in meetings, workshops and seminars to identify issues, develop recommendations, provide training, and convey/gather information required to perform functions.
- Perform personnel functions (training, scheduling, hiring, evaluating, supervising) to maintain adequate staffing, enhance productivity, and achieve objectives within budget.
- Prepare materials (reports, delivery schedules, order requirements, surplus records, memos, letters, procedures, manuals) to document activities, provide written reference, and convey information.
- Procure equipment, supplies and materials to maintain availability and complete jobs efficiently.
- Receive and stock nonstock and stock items to ensure specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct, and maintain required inventory levels.
- Respond to emergency situations to address immediate safety concerns or school needs.
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements:Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Skills: Use materials handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks), operate standard office equipment, and prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge: Basic math (fractions, percentages, ratios), read technical information, compose documents, facilitate group discussions, analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions; materials handling and storage.
- Abilities: Schedule activities, meetings, and events; gather, collate, classify data; use job-related equipment; work independently with diverse groups; problem‑solve to analyze issues and create action plans; communicate with diverse groups; meet deadlines and schedules; set priorities; work as part of a team.
Working under limited supervision, using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department or across several small work units; utilizing resources from other work units may be required. Continual opportunities to impact organization’s services.
Work EnvironmentPhysical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, fine finger dexterity. Typical job demands: 40% sitting, 25% walking, 35% standing. Minimal temperature variations; exposure to risk of injury or illness.
ExperienceJob‑related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.
