Requisition

This executive P&L leadership role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and oversees strategy, business performance, client relationships, and team development of the Transportation market.

What You Will Be Doing:

Lead Transportation Market Strategy
  • Set and execute market strategy to drive profitable growth and long‑term client partnerships.
  • Provide direction for business development teams, ensuring strategic alignment toward identifying, developing, and securing new opportunities.
  • Translate market trends, funding programs, and client needs into actionable business plans.
Build the Practice
  • Develop and acquire required technical and delivery capabilities to execute market growth strategy and deliver the market annual business plan.
  • Engage with key industry leaders and influencers to advance company brand recognition and leverage industry relationships to identify significant new marketplace opportunities.
  • Understand and connect competitor and industry dynamics to service offerings and approach.
  • Create and foster external strategic partnerships to drive delivery strategy.
Drive Client Relationships
  • Serve as a senior‑level relationship leader for key Transportation clients and partners.
  • Expand wallet share with existing clients and guide the selection of new clients and program opportunities.
  • Represent Stanley Consultants as a trusted, solutions‑oriented partner in the Transportation industry.
Deliver Business Performance
  • Lead sales, revenue growth, profitability, and portfolio health for the Transportation market.
  • Provide commercial oversight to new project origination and setup.
  • Maintain accountability for financial performance, risk management, and delivery outcomes.
Build and Lead High‑Performing Teams
  • Inspire and develop multidisciplinary Transportation teams across geographies.
  • Partner with operations and talent leaders to ensure the right skills, capacity, and succession to support growth.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and engagement.
What We’re Looking For:

Attributes & Experiences
  • Credibility in the transportation industry.
  • Deep understanding of transportation funding and procurement and how to convert funding programs into capture plans and deliverable scopes.
  • Ability to integrate cross‑market services to deliver differentiated, client‑ready solutions and expand wallet share.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen; manage portfolio health and P&L accountability while balancing growth and risk.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing, winning and growing major accounts include pursuit strategy, teaming, and executive‑level client engagement.
  • Proven executive presence and ability to build trust with C‑suite and public‑sector leaders; skilled at navigating stakeholder environments and delivering outcomes in the public eye.
  • Experience in development of multi‑year growth strategies with shorter horizon milestones.
  • Adept at managing and leading through influence in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Inspiring people leadership, including building high‑performing teams, developing future leaders, recruiting key talent, and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
  • Data‑informed leadership mindset—uses market intelligence, pipeline metrics, and competitive insights to prioritize pursuits and measure performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline;
    Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in the Transportation market.
  • Proven success leading growth, client engagement, and delivery on complex, multidisciplinary programs.

Salary: $207,000 – $300,000 per year, with additional earning potential through a performance‑based bonus program (salary range for CO, IL, or MN locations).
