Job Description
DPR Construction is seeking a safety manager to be based in our Phoenix office. The role involves implementing DPR’s environmental health and safety plan (EHSP) and related programs at assigned construction project(s) and business units.
Responsibilities- Lead and live DPR’s injury-free environment culture.
- Shepherd and develop career paths for safety coordinators.
- Lead pre-qualification processes between DPR and its subcontractors.
- Coach DPR/sub-management on safety leadership and management practices.
- Provide trending analysis for project/ regional data on a weekly, monthly and/or quarterly basis.
- Foster the development of safety programs and protocols.
- Develop and blend site-specific safety plans that incorporate both DPR’s and core market customers’ safe work practices.
- Assist with continual development of new methods for abating hazards.
- Perform regular jobsite safety audits and share findings, corrective actions and plans with DPR project management.
- Monitor the subcontractor selection process and adherence to established environmental safety and health guidelines.
- Measure team engagement regarding safety management practices.
- Maintain regional safety files, including safety training documentation, medical certifications, environmental testing, investigation reports, close-call summaries, injury summaries, leading-indicator data and other safety and health documentation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on construction sites.
- OSHA 500 training.
- Competent person, train-the-trainer and other activity-specific certifications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Degree in safety management or CHST certification a plus.
- Manufacturing, pharmaceutical or OSHPD experience a plus.
- Carpenter or laborer union affiliation is acceptable.
