Operations Manager
Job Summary
This role is responsible for leading, motivating, training and supporting a team of Warehouse Associates in a specific or overall area of the warehouse. The person will schedule, manage performance, protect warehouse contents, and maintain productivity and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule work within the assigned team and area.
- Create work documents for picking, moving, and shipping of merchandise.
- Maintain records and assignment lists of tasks performed to minimize downtime and create accountability.
- Reconcile completed work and process final documents in the assigned area(s).
- Keep records of work performed versus time to produce comparative metrics.
- Maintain a dock presence while inspecting work in progress and evaluating techniques.
- Perform tasks in other warehouse areas in collaboration with leads or supervision.
- Hold key and security access; oversee the building as needed while following RDC security procedures.
- Train new staff or those who need additional training to maximize productivity.
The role may involve zero to five people per RDC depending on size and complexity, covering areas such as delivery, receiving, inventory/returns/repairs, and special sections. Activities are assessed for efficiency and minimal negative impact on customer service and inventory.
Minimum Requirements- High School Diploma or GED with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- Travel required:
None.
- Experience performing a leadership role (any level) is preferred and an advantage.
- Must be able to learn and utilize RMS.
Work is nearly continuous; requires sitting, standing, walking, repetitive hand motions, bending, stooping, climbing stairs or ladders, kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, reaching overhead, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 350 pounds.
