RecordProcessing Detail
Police Records Clerks respond to requests from Law Enforcement Agencies only. Responsibilities include processing requests for background checks, Brady Gun Law checks, urgent requests from law enforcement agencies, uploading Department Subpoenas and other high‑level supplemental items, and overseeing the Master Name Indexes with over eleven million names. Employees must complete work timely and are responsible for daily/weekly goals. Employees utilize a computer and several law enforcement databases to track and process their work, including SharePoint and the Microsoft Suite of products, RMS, CAD, ACIC, NCIC, MVD, and III.

Ideal Candidate- Possess strong customer service skills when handling potentially difficult circumstances.
- Ability to demonstrate proper English usage, grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Pay Range: $22.61 to $33.41 per hour.
- Hiring Range: $22.61 to $28.86 per hour.
- Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.

- Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus experience:
- Providing customer service in a fast‑paced environment over the phone and in person.
- Processing, maintaining, and auditing confidential documentation.
- Working in law enforcement, the criminal justice field, or a similar environment.
- Using Microsoft Office.
- In general computer use such as email, internet for research purposes, and data entry.
