Overview
Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Finance for a mission-driven organization that partners with K-12 schools to provide strategic financial and operational support. This is an onsite position based in Phoenix, Arizona
.

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals while ensuring exceptional financial guidance and service delivery across a regional portfolio.
- Partner with organizational and school leadership to provide strategic budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, board reporting, audit support, and financial analysis.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders by providing proactive financial guidance, resolving complex challenges, and supporting long-term organizational success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, implement scalable systems, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Establish and maintain financial reporting standards, quality assurance initiatives, and best practices that promote consistency and excellence.
- Support organizational growth by assisting with new client onboarding, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement of finance operations.
- Experience leading financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and strategic financial planning within K-12 education, charter schools, or other mission-driven organizations.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing finance teams while partnering with executive leadership and governing boards.
- Strong understanding of financial management, compliance, reporting, and public funding models within educational environments.
- Experience utilizing enterprise financial systems such as Net Suite, Sage Intacct, Workday, Vena, or similar ERP platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex financial initiatives.
This position offers a competitive annual salary of $130,000–$150,000
