Lead a Growing Mechanical Division
Our client, a respected and rapidly growing mechanical contractor in the Phoenix market, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Division Manager to lead its Mechanical Operations. This leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial HVAC, plumbing, and piping construction who excels at managing teams, building client relationships, and driving profitable project execution.
You’ll play a key role in overseeing operations, mentoring project teams, and helping grow one of Arizona’s premier mechanical construction groups.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Mechanical Division, including Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field leadership
- Oversee multiple commercial mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, cost controls, and overall financial performance
- Develop strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, and key clients
- Mentor and develop project management staff while promoting a culture of accountability and collaboration
- Support estimating, preconstruction, procurement, and business development efforts
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality
- Monitor labor productivity, project performance, and operational metrics
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and grow the division
- 10+ years of experience with a commercial mechanical contractor
- Proven leadership experience managing HVAC, plumbing, and piping construction projects
- Experience overseeing Project Managers and large project teams
- Demonstrated success delivering projects ranging from $5M–$75M+
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management
- Experience with design-build and negotiated work preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
