A well-established and rapidly growing mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Division Manager to lead and scale its HVAC operations. This organization specializes in large-scale commercial and industrial projects across mission critical, healthcare, municipal, education, and other commercial sectors.
Projects include a mix of tenant improvements, renovations, and ground-up construction, with mechanical scopes typically ranging from $2M–$4M and project durations averaging 7–8 months
.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing division operations, driving financial performance, and developing high-performing teams.
Position SummaryThe HVAC Division Manager will oversee all aspects of the HVAC division, including operations, financial performance, project execution, and team leadership. This individual will manage an established team of Project Managers, Superintendents, and field staff, while helping scale the division and expand client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of ~40–45 personnel across project management, field operations, and service
- Oversee division financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and job costing
- Manage multiple HVAC construction and service projects simultaneously
- Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and manpower strategies
- Drive operational efficiency and identify cost-saving initiatives
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to team members
- Ensure all projects meet quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives
- Build and maintain strong client and industry relationships
- 8–10+ years of HVAC/MEP experience
- 3–5+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong background in sheet metal and piping (REQUIRED)
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and service operations
- Experience overseeing financials, job costing, and division performance
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, construction practices, and applicable codes/regulations
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
