Scheduling Operations Manager

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking a Scheduling Operations Manager to support our Railroad Field Services team. We are looking for a candidate with great communication skills who enjoys working with a team in a fast-paced environment.

This role is focused on leading complex scheduling operations, coordinating utility inspections and railroad flagging activities, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. As the Scheduling Operations Manager, you will serve as the central point of coordination between internal teams, railroad personnel, contractors, clients, and third-party flagging vendors, driving communication, resolving operational challenges, and maintaining alignment across multiple stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to leverage your leadership, operational expertise, and strategic problem-solving skills to optimize scheduling processes, support critical infrastructure projects, and help ensure the successful delivery of work that keeps railroad and utility operations moving forward.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead scheduling and coordination of utility inspections and flagging operations.
  • Manage scheduling teams, inspectors, and administrative staff.
  • Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Coordinate with railroad personnel, contractors, clients, inspectors, and vendors.
  • Monitor project progress, staffing, and operational risks while resolving delays and scheduling conflicts.
  • Review schedules, reports, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all operations follow safety regulations, railroad requirements, and industry standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for operational escalations, project coordination, and emergency scheduling support.
  • Analyze performance metrics and support process improvements.
  • Support employee training, coaching, and team development.
  • Maintain communication between field operations, project management, and clients.

Preferred

  • Leadership, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience resolving operational and scheduling issues.
  • Knowledge of utility inspections, railroad operations, safety standards, and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Analytical, reporting, and process improvement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling/project management software.

Preferred Experience:

  • 15+ years managing schedules, inspections, or operations in utility, railroad, construction, engineering, or related industries.
  • Leadership experience supervising teams, inspectors, or field personnel.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, clients, railroad personnel, and vendors.
  • Background in project tracking, compliance documentation, and operational reporting.
  • Experience improving workflows, resolving delays, and maintaining project timelines.
  • Familiarity with permitting, inspection processes, and regulatory compliance.

Pay Range:

  • $70-$80 / hr.
