As the Field Maintenance Director
, you would provide leadership and coordination across the field maintenance departments; develop and implement strategies, policies, and programs to ensure that the Central Arizona Project (CAP) mission is accomplished. Field Maintenance executes the asset management plan for all of CAP’s 16 pumping plants and 336 mile long aqueduct system. The business functions within Field Maintenance include Instrumentation and Control, HVAC-Fire-Security, Protective Relays, Operational Technologies, Aqueduct Maintenance, and Pumping Plant Maintenance.
A significant portion of CAP’s crafts and trades employees report within Field Maintenance. As a member of the Management Council, performing complex administrative and professional work on a wide variety of special projects to ensure they are in concert with the policies, procedures, and goals set forth by the General Manager and Board of Directors.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and ten (10) years of applicable work experience in a related field, including six (6) years in progressively responsible supervisory or management roles; or high school diploma/GED and fourteen (14) years of applicable work experience in a related field, including six (6) years in progressively responsible supervisor or management roles.
- Successful demonstration of interpersonal, supervisory, management, organization and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic and business planning; highly developed participative leadership, negotiation, communications, and interpersonal skills are critical.
- Significant experience overseeing large maintenance and asset management programs including development and execution of preventative maintenance plans, operations and maintenance budgeting, and identification of capital project replacement / repair needs; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job such as those listed above.
- A valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
