Job Description:

The Project Manager, under the direction of the Director of Fiscal & Business Operations, works collaboratively with staff across Arizona PBS to ensure organizational initiatives, strategic priorities, and cross-departmental projects are planned, coordinated, and completed efficiently while meeting established goals and expectations. This role provides leadership in implementing and maintaining project management processes and software to improve planning, communication, task management, scheduling, and resource alignment across the station.

Serving as a central resource for the senior leadership team, the Project Manager provides visibility into project priorities, timelines, risks, and resource needs to support informed decision-making and organizational alignment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly organized professional with strong project management, communication, and relationship-building skills who can successfully lead multiple cross-functional initiatives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Experience in public media, higher education, nonprofit organizations, or similarly complex organizations is preferred.

Position

Salary Range:
  • $58,000 - $68,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties:
  • Supports Arizona PBS senior leadership in implementing project management best practices, standardized tools, and efficient workflows across the station.
  • Manages the station's project management software, project plans, timelines, reporting, and dashboards to ensure effective execution and visibility of organizational initiatives.
  • Coordinates cross-functional projects by facilitating communication, tracking milestones, identifying risks, and helping teams meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Works with stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, resource needs, and success measures while fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Tracks organizational priorities and project portfolios to ensure resources are allocated effectively and competing priorities are managed.
  • Develops and maintains project documentation, reporting processes, and post-project evaluations to improve accountability, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes project data, prepares reports, and provides recommendations to support strategic planning and organizational decision-making.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership on project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and prioritization to ensure alignment with Arizona PBS strategic objectives.
  • Provides guidance and training on project management tools and processes to improve organizational efficiency and communication.
  • Establishes project management standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency across departments.
  • Monitors industry trends, emerging technologies, and project management best practices to recommend process improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Supports all station departments, which includes content, production, development, educational outreach, and creative services teams by assisting with project scheduling, workflow coordination, and tracking deliverables as needed.
  • Facilitates project kickoff meetings, status meetings, and post-project reviews to promote accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support department and station-wide objectives.
