The City of Phoenix, Office of Sustainability, is dedicated to enhancing sustainability and resilience across the city and within municipal operations. We collaborate with city departments, governmental institutions, and community partners to implement innovative programs and projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate climate action.
The Office of Sustainability (OOS) is seeking a Community Programs Project Manager. Duties are performed under the City Energy Manager and require considerable initiative and independent judgment within an assigned area of responsibility. We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional with strong technical expertise, collaborative, self-directed, and a commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes moving work from planning to implementation.
Duties and responsibilities of the role are:
* Manage and administer various community programs/projects.
* Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets and administer associated contracts.
* Develop and maintain program policies and standard operating procedures.
* Advance community-wide energy projects with residents, community-based organizations, businesses, and institutional partners.
* Drive implementation of assigned actions under the City's Climate Action Plan (CAP) and Energy Access Plan (EAP) or other applicable City plans.
* Design and facilitate community workshops, listening sessions, and co-design processes; and synthesize community input into actionable programs and projects.
* Coordinate across City departments and external stakeholders to deliver assigned projects.
* Identify, pursue, and manage external funding to support CAP and EAP implementation.
* Assist with evaluating bid proposals.
* Track and report on Key Performance Indicators for assigned actions.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
* Knowledge of City practices, policies, and procedures.
* Working knowledge of energy data analysis, utility billing review, or energy benchmarking platforms.
* Brings substantive depth in clean energy, building efficiency, and sustainability, along with the capacity to translate technical concepts for general audiences.
* Ability in handling conflict and uncertainty, competing priorities, and multiple tasks.
* Skill of supervisory and managerial principles, with the ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships.
SALARY
Pay Range: $82,056.00 to $ annually.
Hiring Range: $82,056.00 to $ annually.

* Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
* Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

Please understand that this is pay grade 067. If selected, your salary offer will be based on the applicable promotion or demotion worksheet in accordance with the City Pay Ordinance.
* Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.
* Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.
* Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.
* When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit.
