Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Safety Manager
Coaches and develops a team of professionals to assist in their development and attainment of necessary skills to lift performance. Monitors staff performance and drives performance improvement initiatives and ensures that service levels meet or exceed agreed upon standards.
Responsible for the development and implementation of Company safety policies, standards, and procedures in partnership with Safety leadership. Oversees company participation in OSHA programs including Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) Star and Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).
Develops on-going positive relationships with Corporate, Area, and Business Units to foster a durable culture and commitment to safety and compliance.
Develops and delivers effective communication strategies related to health and safety programs.
Drives knowledge sharing and continuous improvement with company-wide sharing of lessons learned through incidents, corrective actions and best practices.
Monitors adherence to safety policies and identify areas where additional training and support is needed. Relays findings to senior leadership as appropriate.
Represents the Republic Services at industry events and safety forums. Presents to key clients and potential stakeholders to communicate the company's safety performance programs effectively and professionally.
Prepares and presents statistical data and/or background material for management reports on a regular basis.
Monitors and supports department and field safety budget.
Partners with Legal team regarding OSHA regulations and accident investigation. And supports Risk Management on workers compensation claims assessment and implementation of safety programs to proactively address injury and loss prevention.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Experience in all aspects of safety, including OSHA, DOT compliance, safety policy and procedure development, and loss control.
Experience with Fleet and/or remote workforce management
Certificates in safety and related compliance, such as OSHA 40 Hour is preferred.
7 - 10 years of experience in all aspects of safety, including OSHA, DOT compliance, safety policy and procedure development, and loss control.
