Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or higher in Education or related field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of five years’ successful teaching experience.
- Minimum three years of successful senior educational leadership experience.
- Experience with school finance, school law, federal programs, grants, and strategic planning.
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain).

The Governing Board of Gila Crossing Community School seeks an innovative, student-centered leader to serve as Superintendent. The Superintendent serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the school and is responsible for providing visionary leadership that promotes academic excellence, operational effectiveness, fiscal responsibility, and meaningful community engagement.
The successful candidate will be an ethical, collaborative, and highly visible leader who is committed to the success of every student while honoring the culture, values, and traditions of the Gila River Indian Community. The Superintendent will build strong relationships with the Governing Board, Tribal leadership, staff, students, families, and community partners to ensure the continued growth and success of the school.
Essential Responsibilities:Vision and Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the implementation of the school's strategic plan and establish measurable goals that support student achievement.
- Use data and organizational performance measures to guide strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with the School leadership team to monitor student achievement, school performance, and organizational outcomes.
- Support instructional excellence by ensuring appropriate resources, systems, and professional capacity are available.
- Maintain knowledge of Arizona Academic Standards, state assessments, and educational best practices.
- Promote equitable opportunities that support the success of all students.
- Develop and maintain a transparent and trusting relationship with the Governing Board.
- Inform the Governing Board through timely reports, recommendations, and communication.
- Implement Governing Board policies and support the Board in establishing long-term priorities and organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, Tribal, and local laws, regulations, and Board policies.
- Serve as the primary representative and ambassador of Gila Crossing Community School.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with the Gila River Indian Community, Tribal leadership, families, community organizations, educational partners, and local businesses.
- Represent the school at Tribal meetings, community events, educational conferences, and public functions.
- Promote meaningful family and community engagement that strengthens student success.
- Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and respect while honoring the traditions and values of the Gila River Indian Community.
- Provide executive oversight of district operations, including finance, facilities, transportation, food service, technology, human resources, safety, and support services.
- Ensure organizational systems effectively support teaching, learning, and student success.
- Monitor organizational performance and hold district leaders accountable for achieving goals.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of district resources and long-term financial sustainability.
- Provide leadership and support to the administrative team while empowering school and department leaders to effectively manage daily operations.
- Promote collaboration among departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Foster a positive workplace culture built on professionalism, trust, and shared accountability.
