UCT is looking for a talented FAB Onsite Tech to join us in Phoenix
!

The FAB Onsite Technician I (FOT I) supports engineering and technical operations within a cleanroom environment s role ensures the availability of clean parts for preventive maintenance, manages documentation and data quality across systems, and assists in resolving material discrepancies. The technician works independently to address non-standard issues, adapts to shifting priorities, and contributes to continuous improvement in assembly and substrate manufacturing processes.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Perform equipment and preventive maintenance (PM) support, including tool breakdown, part packaging, leak checks, and kit assembly.
  • Coordinate part and kit shipments, including documentation and deposition details for processing at UCT.
  • Assist engineering teams by presenting data and findings to resolve Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and Fails on Installs (FOIs).
  • Manage site paperwork related to chemical usage and decontamination labeling.
  • Apply technical knowledge to resolve complex, non-standard problems with minimal supervision.
  • Support assembly and substrate manufacturing disciplines through hands-on tasks and process improvements.
  • Maintain data integrity across multiple systems to support issue resolution and operational efficiency.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing priorities and contribute to cross-functional collaboration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and engineering objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or semiconductor part processing/handling.
  • Cleanroom experience with adherence to protocol and contamination control.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, including change control and product disposition.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills, including listening, informing, and de-escalating in high-stress situations.
  • Attention to detail with a zero-tolerance mindset for errors.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration across departments.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to organizational goals.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP.
  • Understanding of process management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Technical knowledge of assembly and substrate manufacturing disciplines.
Education, Certifications, Requirements
  • Candidate must possess an associate degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM Science or Technology or Engineering.
  • Post-secondary education and 2 or more years of related work experience.
Work Environment
  • Work in a clean room, chemical cleaning and/or other parts cleaning environments wearing a bunny suit, hood, booties, safety glasses and gloves for the duration of shift (There may be additional safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (masks, face shields, etc.)
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • The ability to talk on the phone and use a computer for extended periods may be required.
  • May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
Physical Demands
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Walk 3-5 miles and stand or sit for up to 9 hours within a shift.
  • Push carts for a distance of at least 500 m.
  • Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull and grasp.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Subject of interruptions.
