Job Summary:

Precise Metal Products is seeking detail-oriented and skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic (Proto Mechanic/Operators) to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining prototype manufacturing equipment, performing mechanical adjustments, and ensuring quality standards are met. This role requires hands‑on troubleshooting and a strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain prototype manufacturing machinery and equipment in accordance with production schedules.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments, setups, and calibrations on machines to meet production specifications.
  • Inspect and verify prototype components for quality and adherence to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify and resolve mechanical issues during prototype runs.
  • Maintain detailed records of machine settings, adjustments, and production data.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production progress and issues.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related mechanical/operator role is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift as assigned.
  • Commitment to quality and safety standards.
