DIRECT HIRE: A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Pump Mechanic to join a dynamic team in the Phoenix, AZ area.

Location: Phoenix, AZ.
Salary Range: $40hr - $45hr
Shift: Dayshift + OT

Responsibilities
  • Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, paint, package/prepare for shipment API centrifugal pumps as well as other related rotating equipment
  • Assist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirements
  • Monitor progress of repairs and assign and guide shop personnel to complete those repairs
  • Serve as one of the most experienced tradesman in the shop
  • Set the positive leadership tone and behavior
  • Interact with customers in a positive way showing them how DXP cares about their business
  • Assist the Supervisor in the execution of all work
Qualifications
  • 10 + years of experience working in a pump repair shop facility with previous experience repairing API centrifugal pumps and other related rotating equipment prepared
  • Experience repairing API/Engineered pumps, creating details, and making technical decisions
    In-depth understanding of API 610, and other applicable standards
  • Ability to read pump sectional, machine drawings, and OEM pump manuals
  • Disassembly, inspection, ability to write up a detailed rotating equipment report to all necessary repairs and or replacement parts needed (Examples: assembly prep, assembly, pneumatic pressure testing of assembled equipment, painting of finished repair and final inspection)
  • Safely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings, mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing preferred
  • Ability to work with multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED

  • Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Working Conditions: Must be able to work in a shop environment without AC and heat, with possible exposure to dirt, heat, and noise
  • Travel: N/A
  • Background check, physical, and drug test required
