Responsibilities- Testing - Power up and perform functional tests on various micro‑controller boards, cable testing, and system level testing. Must have working knowledge of common hand tools, digital multi‑meters, O‑Scope, power supplies, hi‑pot meters, and other lab equipment.
- Sets up test equipment; understands the test requirements for each type of board or systems/subassembly tested.
- Identifies component types and reads component values or integrated circuits (ICS), resistors, capacitors, etc.
- Learn to operate and program a Spea 4080 flying probe tester.
- Programming - Program micro‑processors, flash memory and various integrated circuits (IC's).
- Trouble shooting – at the system, board, and down to the component level.
- Documenting – test results for each unit tested and creates or updates test procedures as needed.
- Computer skills – some DOS knowledge;
Windows XP or higher, Word, Excel, Outlook. - Operate and program a Spea 4080 flying probe tester (will train).
- Ability to use hand tools and general test equipment (multi‑meters, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.) when working with electronic components.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge operating DMMs to verify possible opens, shorts, resistance, and diode checks when working with electronic components.
- Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, assembly prints, procedures, specifications, and other documentation describing electronic assemblies.
- Basic understanding of test measurement and debug techniques.
- Technical degree or 2 years of industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with programming a flying probe machine is a plus but not required. MJS Designs will train to operate and program.
