Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC production machines and facility equipment according to OEM instruction and production needs.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, machine geometry alignments, spindle inspection/replacement, ballscrew inspection, bearing preload settings, high‑pressure coolant system adjustments, and general component diagnosis and repair.
- Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting such as spindle/axis servo tuning, servo‑amplifier replacement and programming, single‑and‑three‑phase power supplies, low‑voltage control wiring, overload protection resetting, AC/DC motor inspection and troubleshooting.
- Set up work with a variety of vendors, contractors, and outside technicians, as well as other members of our internal Maintenance department.
- Must have a strong background with CNC Fanuc controls, including parameter changes, system back‑ups, grid shifts, pitch‑error compensation, G and M codes, and the ability to read IO and search ladder logic as needed for diagnosis purposes.
- Ability to operate a variety of CNC lathes, mills, and other CNC machinery as needed for machine repairs (handwheel, MDI, and auto operation).
- Ability to read and understand machine maintenance manuals, operation manuals, Fanuc instruction manuals, and associated machine documentation (paperback and digital).
- Understanding and use of precision measuring equipment.
- Operation of forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lift, and work at elevated heights.
- Experience with vacuum pumps and systems is a desired skill.
- Knowledge of, and ability to comply with, OSHA safety and company rules.
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of qualified maintenance experience.
