Position
Receiving Logistics Clerk (Job No. 7741) – Open – Temporary, 1 position – Pay rate $20.00 per hour –
Location:
21333 N. 19th Ave, Phoenix, AZ.
- Load, unload, and move materials that weigh 35‑50 pounds repeatedly within or near the plant, yard, or work site.
- Manage materials being inducted/transferred, received and/or issued through the Repair and Overhaul Section and maintain all database entries.
- Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to determine the materials or containers to be moved.
- Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw‑hammer, or other hand tools.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device.
- Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey load to destination using hand‑operated crane or hoist, signal crane, or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
- Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together using a banding machine and clincher.
- Clamp sections of portable conveyor together or place conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products.
- Remove samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and take samples to laboratory for analysis.
- Lift heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and clean work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
- Coordinate the organization’s daily logistical operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution.
- Organize warehousing for goods and review inventory to ensure product adjustments are properly applied.
- Plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to internal or external customers based on needs.
- Act as liaison between customers, freight carriers and the shipping department, investigating and resolving detention issues.
- Assist cost control by evaluating shipments, consolidating loads, and selecting the most cost‑efficient method of shipment within Department of Defense guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred one year of experience).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Driving required.
- Ability to lift 35‑50 pounds repeatedly.
- Proficiency with hand tools, hand trucks, electric dollies, wheelbarrows, banding machines, and power hoists.
- Strong communication skills and ability to read/interpret work orders.
- Experience with inventory management, database entry, and shipment planning.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense shipping guidelines (preferred).''
