Starting Pay: $23.50 per hour
Compensation is based on relevant skills, experience, and assigned shift.
This position operates on a rotating three‑shift schedule.
- Afternoon Shift: additional 6% premium
- Night Shift: additional 10% premium
LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium ion polymer batteries and modules for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications.
As a utility technician, you will provide mechanical expertise and cost‑effective solutions for multiple utility facility operating and construction projects that meet budget, quality, and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities- Maintain and perform repairs on mechanical equipment (boiler, compressed dry air system, chiller, HVAC, piping, etc.)
- Perform preventive maintenance to complete all PM tasks
- Troubleshoot abrupt breakdowns of utility facilities
- Monitor utility operation
- Demonstrate problem‑solving methodology and reduce utility cost losses
- Follow work procedures and comply with safety & standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain cleanliness at the work‑site in accordance with 5S3R standards
- Trade school certification in mechanical maintenance or related field or equivalent, with relevant experience
1 to 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting as a mechanical utility technician preferred.
Skills- Exposure to mechanical facilities, preferably in a production setting
- Experienced with handling utility facilities
- Comfortable working independently and with others

- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Strong attention to detail

Shift schedule:
- 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
- 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
- 10:00 pm – 6:30 am
- Work every other weekend
