IMCOR is looking for a motivated Sheet Metal Shop Apprentice to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to learn the sheet metal trade in a shop environment while working alongside experienced journeymen and shop leadership. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and comfortable working with tools, materials, and fabrication equipment.

The Sheet Metal Shop Apprentice assists with the safe, accurate, and productive fabrication and assembly of sheet metal materials and related HVAC components within the shop. This position is designed for someone who is interested in learning the trade, developing hands‑on skills, and supporting daily shop production needs.

• Assist journeymen and shop team members with sheet metal fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Help set up, operate, and clean fabrication machines and shop equipment as assigned.
• Load, unload, move, organize, and stage sheet metal materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Clean work areas and keep shop materials organized and accessible.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping, fastening, and assembling sheet metal components.
• Smooth seams, joints, and edges using files, grinders, or other approved tools.
• Perform basic shop support tasks such as material handling, cleanup, and preparation of work areas.
• Learn proper use and care of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, company policies, and instructions from shop leadership.
• Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

• Prior sheet metal, construction, shop, warehouse, or mechanical experience is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work accurately and safely in a fast‑paced shop environment.
• Basic ability to use or learn hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
• Strong attendance, dependability, and willingness to work as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Bend, twist, squat, kneel, reach, and use hands repetitively.
• Lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment.
• Safely work around machinery, tools, noise, dust, and shop‑related activity.
• Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hard hat when required, hearing protection, and work boots.

This position works primarily in a sheet metal shop environment. The role may involve exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, sharp materials, and varying shop temperatures. Safety procedures and required PPE must be followed at all times.

Monday through Friday;
Day shift. Overtime may be available based on business needs.
