Welder

Description

The primary role of the Welder is to make appropriate welds to repair, refurbish or fabricate trash/recycling bins and sometimes trucks.

• 1. Perform welding, fabrication and fabricating repairs on bins and trucks.
• 2. Conduct safety checks on welds and fabrications on bins and trucks.
• 3. Deliver and pick up trash and recycling receptacles as required.
• 4. Utilize fleet maintenance software program to document work.
• 5. Deliver repaired, refurbished and/or fabricated recycling receptacles to customer cites.
• 6. Paint recycling receptacles.
• 8. Observe and comply with hazardous waste and material handling and disposal procedures and regulations as set forth by local, state and federal environmental and health agencies.
• 9. Observe and comply with all applicable safety regulations, rules, policies and procedures.
• 10. Maintain clean, safe and organized work space.
• 11. Maintain collaborative working relationship with drivers, operators and coworkers and communicate timeline for downed vehicles.
• 12. Mentor and provide assistance to Welder Trainees.
• 13. Participate in external, Department and Company-wide trainings to increase skill sets.
• 14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

• Welding and fabrication principles and practices.
• Tools, equipment and systems used in the practice of welding and fabrication.
• Federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices.
