Manufacturing Engineer, Production Manager, Quality Engineering
UCT is looking for a talented Welding Supervisor to join us in Chandler, AZ.
The Welding Supervisor leads daily welding operations to ensure safe, high‑quality, and efficient production that meets delivery and customer requirements. This role manages production priorities, capacity planning, and workforce performance while overseeing weld quality, cost, and on‑time delivery. By driving continuous improvement, optimizing shop layout and processes, and partnering with cross‑functional teams, the supervisor enhances operational performance, resolves production challenges, and develops a skilled, certified welding workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for managing all production welding related issues for the site.
- Manage all day‑to‑day welding related activities. Set priorities, capacity planning, level loading strategies, and headcount assessments.
- Responsible for overall factory weld shop performance in terms of 6S, on‑time delivery, quality, weld count and cost (cycle time and overtime).
- Responsible for initiating and implementing Manufacturing Process Capability and Continuous quality improvement.
- Review and oversee weld shop design for optimal efficiency.
- Drive for continuous culture improvement throughout entire welding process.
- Develop and maintain training / certification programs for welding team members.
- Hire, train, and develop weld shop personnel.
- Work closely with all support organizations (Materials, Engineering, Quality, etc.) to resolve customer issues, mitigate delivery and schedule problems, and expedite closure of material shortages.

Skills and Abilities
- Working understanding of AWS and SEMI requirements for high purity welding.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
- Ability to develop weld programs and make adjustments to existing programs to achieve desired results.
- Ability to work effectively with operations and other groups to ensure that site delivery and quality issues are met.
- Excellent management, leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong technical leadership and semiconductor equipment knowledge desired.
- Strong experience with Process Control and engineering tools preferred.
- Strong understanding of factory utilization and production efficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP applications a plus.
- Ability to work long hours as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering discipline/equivalent; APICS/CPIM certification preferred.
- 5+ years direct experience with orbital welding for the semiconductor industry.
- 1+ years of directly related Engineering experience preferably in Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven strong team building and personnel development experience.
- Working knowledge of quick‑turn, engineer‑to‑order environment a plus.
