CompanyLG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium ion polymer batteries and packs for Energy Storage System (ESS).
SummaryThe Production Planner is responsible for accurately processing purchasing and cost data related to subcontracted production activities. The position also manages the classification and accounting of tolling, rework, and claim costs, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze cost variances and ensure data integrity. In addition, the role requires strong communication skills to coordinate schedules and resolve closing issues with external vendors, including claim reconciliation and root cause follow‑up.
Responsibilities- Ensure production goals were met by coordinating with outsourced packers
- Collect purchasing data from outsourced packer and perform IT system input and validation for monthly closing
- Accurate journal entry processing, preventing missed purchases, and performing accounting tasks in line with cut‑off standards
- Classify and process various production‑related external costs such as tolling fees, rework costs, and claim expenses in IT systems
- Understand cost attribution based on root cause analysis and allocation by item or process
- Review cost accuracy by comparing Pack & LINK delivery quantities and contracted unit prices
- Analyze and adjust cost variances when discrepancies arise through cross‑functional collaboration
- Coordinate month‑end closing schedules with subcontractors and proactively address omissions or data errors
- Identify root cause of claims and handle post‑issue reconciliation and resolution in collaboration with vendors
- Recommend solutions to reduce production costs and improve production processes and product quality
- Lead scheduling and support
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent, relevant experience
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the ESS industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and understanding of multiple metrics
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work cross‑functionally
- Fluency in Korean is preferred
- MS Office suite
