What you’ll doPurpose of Role:
Support the shop floor by performing a variety of manual and operational tasks to ensure efficient production, safe handling of materials, and a clean, organized work environment. This role contributes to meeting production goals, maintaining quality standards, and supporting skilled trades and machine operators as required.
- General Shop Support & Operations:
Perform a variety of general labor tasks to support daily manufacturing operations, assisting production activities and adapting to changing operational needs. - Material Handling & Equipment Operation:
Operate forklifts and handling equipment to move materials safely across the shop, supporting production flow and material availability. - Production Support & Tools Usage:
Assist with basic fabrication and preparation tasks using hand and power tools, and support cutting and material preparation activities as trained. - Shipping & Receiving Support:
Support logistics activities including staging, loading, and material handling to ensure efficient inbound and outbound flow. - Safety First:
Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
Must-haves
- Ability to work safely around hot metal, welding, and plasma cutting operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Strong attendance and punctuality with the ability to work 5 days per week, and occasionally up to 6 days as required.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and material‑handling equipment (certification considered an asset or must be obtained).
- Experience using electric and hand tools; experience with cutting torches (oxy/fuel) is an asset.
