Responsibilities- Operate specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same work.
- Maintain and repair welding machinery.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify defects or errors.
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Read and interpret welding prints issued to the welding department.
- Accurately follow welding instructions to provide quality welds within approved methods.
- Operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders and forklifts as required.
- Collaborate with other departments, weld personnel, supervisors and lead men through clear communication.
- Maintain proper training certification (GTAW, SMAW, SAW, GTAW Aluminum, etc.).
- Ability to read welding prints and follow welding instructions.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
- Minimum 3 years of proven welding experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of electro machinery repair.
- Must have the tools to perform expected tasks.
While performing duties of this job, you may occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to manipulate objects. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
