POSITION: Sr. CNC Machinist

LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ 85050 (Onsite Monday - Friday)

BASE SALARY: $110,000 - $120,000 Range

SUMMARY & OVERVIEW:

A leading technology/manufacturing company in Phoenix, AZ is looking to hire a highly skilled Sr. CNC Machinist with expertise in both 5-axis machining and Swiss lathe operations. This role is critical to product development and prototyping efforts, requiring precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC machines and Swiss lathes to produce precision components.
• Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications to plan machining operations.
• Utilize CAD/CAM software (Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred) to create and optimize machining programs.
• Perform machine setups including installation of chucks, collets, bushings, tools, and stock pushers.
• Verify machine settings and part accuracy using measurement tools and sample work pieces.
• Maintain quality standards through drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and threading operations.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs or tooling as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and follow manufacturer guidelines for equipment upkeep.
• Document production activities, quality checks, and shift handovers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support product development and provide design feedback.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in mandatory ATF training.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, including 5-axis and Swiss lathe operations.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Autodesk Fusion / Fusion 360 preferred).
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and machining principles.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and apply geometry and trigonometry.
• Effective communication skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic mechanical engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced prototyping or product development environment.
• Willingness to support other product development tasks as needed.
• Commitment to safety and continuous learning.

Compensation:

$110,000 - $120,000 starting base salary range
