Production Supervisor – Overnight Shift

Schedule:

Sunday–Thursday | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Lead the shift that keeps production running strong.

We’re hiring a hands‑on Production Supervisor to lead our overnight manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a steady, approachable leader who knows how to balance people, production, safety, quality, and accountability in a fast‑paced environment.

On this shift, you are the person employees rely on for direction, support, problem‑solving, and follow‑through. You set the tone—ensuring the team works safely, stays focused, and takes pride in meeting production goals.

What You’ll Do

As the Production Supervisor, you will lead the overnight team and help build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and performance. You will review the production schedule, plan shift priorities, assign work, and ensure people, materials, and equipment are aligned to meet department goals.

You will also:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop employees on the overnight shift.

  • Review production schedules and plan work assignments.

  • Delegate routine and critical tasks clearly and consistently.

  • Monitor production progress and respond quickly to delays, staffing gaps, material issues, or equipment concerns.

  • Communicate promptly with department managers and planning when delays occur, including downtime estimates and restart timing.

  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, planning, HR, and safety as needed.

  • Ensure materials and supplies are staged according to order quantities and quality requirements.

  • Identify deviations and communicate concerns to the planning team.

  • Maintain strong housekeeping practices and enforce all safety policies.

  • Build rapport with employees and remain visible and approachable on the floor.

  • Support attendance tracking, absence forms, and shift documentation.

  • Conduct introductory and annual performance reviews.

  • Recommend performance increases, retraining, transfers, or other employment actions.

  • Participate in interviews and recommend strong candidates for hire.

  • Partner with trainers and safety committee members to support new hire orientation and safety training.

  • Encourage employees to understand the bigger picture, identify root causes, and contribute ideas for improvement.

  • Model ethical behavior and uphold company policies and values.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Success Looks Like

A successful supervisor keeps the overnight shift organized, safe, productive, and informed. Employees know what is expected. Production schedules are actively managed. Issues are escalated quickly. Delays are addressed with urgency and transparency. Team members feel supported, coached, and held accountable.

The right leader brings calm, steady direction to the night shift and creates an environment where people want to do their best work.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a manufacturing leader with strong floor presence, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions independently during overnight hours.

Strong candidates will bring:

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial operations.

  • Ability to work Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
    .

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear direction.

  • Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.

  • Good judgment when responding to delays, staffing needs, material issues, or equipment concerns.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, housekeeping, and accountability.

  • Ability to build trust while holding employees accountable.

  • Comfort working with HR, maintenance, engineering, planning, safety, and department leadership.

  • Ability to document attendance, performance, training, and shift updates accurately.

  • A steady, ethical, and professional approach to employee relations.

Why This Role Matters

The overnight shift plays a critical role in keeping production on track. This supervisor sets the tone for safety, communication, teamwork, and execution when many support teams are not on‑site.

This is not a “sit in the office” role—it’s a visible, hands‑on leadership position for someone who understands manufacturing, values people, and knows how to keep a team moving toward the goal.
