Inventory Planner

Job Summary

This position will effectively manage the inventory of warehouse supplies and raw materials for production scheduling and supports 5S and SQDC initiatives. This role maintains consistent and ample par levels of inventory and is responsible for the accuracy and fulfillment of raw materials/finished goods to the customer. This role supports the Operations Team by continuously improving the company’s distribution processes and collaborating for future opportunities of improvement.

• Manages the inventory control process.
• Liaises with sales and customer service departments to determine customer requirements.
• Liaises with the Supply Chain department to ensure all materials will be available when required.
• Monitors inventory improvement projects.
• Organizes paperwork and maintains records on inventory matters.
• Performs audits, collects and assesses data regarding inventory, including discrepancies, and works to resolve errors with Operations Management team.
• Analyze data to anticipate future inventory needs.
• Identifies preferred vendors for all warehouse supplies including, but not limited to, lumber, nails, cardboard, plywood, banding, and vinyl and places all orders. Audits all orders against invoices.

Equipment Used: Standard office equipment.

Working Conditions: Office Environment Monday – Friday, 1st shift.

• Experience operating a sit-down propane forklift.
• Experience working in MS Office and SAP.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong aptitude for project planning and identifying issues.
• Quality control experience.
• Ability to meet pressing deadlines.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Further education preferred.
• Minimum of two years in inventory planning/control.
• Ability to operate a sit-down propane forklift.

• No travel is required for this position.
