Job Summary

Gas Plant Production Technician – Phoenix, AZ (Carrier gases – On‑site – TSMC Air Liquide Electronics). The role supports safe operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of steam methane reformer, CO₂ purification, high‑purity helium and allied systems for a semiconductor manufacturer.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot plant systems and support equipment 24/7, including on‑call rotating shifts.
  • Monitor plant systems for abnormalities, respond to alarms, and collaborate with plant team to ensure continuous delivery of high‑purity gas to Central Utility Plants.
  • Assist with the operation, repair, and start‑up of hydrogen, CO₂, liquid bulk, and high‑purity gas delivery systems.
  • Prepare hydrogen, CO₂, helium, steam, and cooling‑tower systems for maintenance, purging, cleaning, flushing, and isolation of energy sources.
  • Participate in the site’s Safe Work Permit program as an authorized person, permit writer, and worker.
  • Repair and support equipment such as compressors, valves, pumps, cooling towers, water treatment units, analyzers, and electronic devices.
  • Operate systems following written and verbal instructions from Plant Engineers or Site Managers and corporate standards.
  • Perform functional testing of equipment before customer acceptance.
  • Calibrate specialty gas delivery equipment, including bulk tanks, analyzers, and monitoring systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair activities.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving gas‑related semiconductor‑manufacturing issues.
  • Draft and revise specifications and operating procedures/work instructions as required.
  • Engage with customer and Air Liquide programs such as Safety, Training, Operations, and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Comply with HS&E Standards, including PPE, Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out, Confined Space Entry, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complete assigned tasks following existing procedures and verbal or written instructions.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required;
    Technical Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Six or more years of technical training or operations experience.
  • Ability to work extended hours, shift work, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, rotating equipment, and piping systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as Process Safety Management, EPA, FDA, and local regulations.
  • Understanding of lock‑out and isolation procedures.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Google and Microsoft software.
  • Team orientation with a self‑motivated attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with management and external customers.
  • Preferred qualification: operation of forklift, man lift, and overhead crane.
  • Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Willingness to support other plants in the U.S. during turn‑arounds, outages, and commissioning (some travel possible).
Physical Requirements
  • Wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing.
  • Full range of motion with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, working on elevated platforms/surfaces.
  • Work in non‑conditioned environments for extended periods.
  • Enter confined spaces for inspection, testing, and work.
