Job Purpose and ImpactThe Quality Inspector will conduct and record monitoring activities, process verification, and finished product and shelf life audits to ensure that products meet all quality measures using an understanding policy and procedures under occasional guidance. In this role, they will ensure that all products comply with all regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities- Supervise and manage the plant's corporate food safety and quality programs, in accordance with Cargill's Food Safety and Security Policy Manual (CFSRA) and global BRC standards.
- Take samples of finished products and shelf life for analysis, perform pre-operational inspections, and accompany audits, ensuring the quality control of products and processes.
- Execute and document monitoring activities, process verifications, and audits (including raw materials), recording deviations and managing corrective actions.
- Hold non-conforming product and participate in decisions about its disposal in all areas of the plant. Provide general training to new food safety, quality, and regulation technicians.
- Record data periodically in quality and safety systems, with minimal or no supervision.
- Support audits by managing supplies, inventory control, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Comply with and enforce safety standards, maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
- Execute other functions assigned according to business needs.
Essential requirements
- Over 18 years old
- Ability to work in different environments where noise, dust, chemicals, among others, may be present. With the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Technical or engineering level in Biotechnologist, Biologist, Food Technology Lic., Biosystems, Industrial, or related field and/or experience
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts, with prior notice
- Ability to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment with or without reasonable adjustments. Basic laboratory equipment
- Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions that may include heat from 45° to 50°
Preferable requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing stairs, kneeling, crouching, or twisting safely, with or without reasonable adjustments
- Handling loads of 25 kilos
- Minimum 6 months of previous experience working in a production or plant environment
