About the Position

The Telecommunications Network Programmer Analyst Senior-Lead analyzes, evaluates, and maintains telecommunications systems including data network, voice systems, commercial cellular equipment, public safety wireless and/or video communications systems. Incumbents conduct analytical studies to define problems, identify deficiencies, and recommend solutions that impact the enterprise and user unit effectiveness. Incumbents have the highest level of technical expertise and work under limited supervision on the most complex assignments requiring considerable independent discretion and judgment.

Incumbents may also assume a lead role providing training and guidance to Technology Bureau staff.

Position Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • Experience: five years of work experience in a telecommunications analyst, voice communication analyst, network engineer, or similar position;
  • Combined education and experience qualifications: An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.
  • Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700;
    Safety;
    Payroll; PREA.
  • Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass an extensive background review.
  • Our Preferred Candidate has: CISCO CCNA, CISCO ISE, Palo Alto Panorama experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies, common network software and hardware such as Cisco, Palo Alto, and Aruba. CCNA.
  • Skill in experience as a network technician or relevant position, diagnostic, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, monitor, control and implement telecommunications and video projects; work well with and/or lead people from many different disciplines; express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
