The Process Technician I supports daily manufacturing operations by monitoring production processes, identifying abnormalities, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals beginning their careers in advanced manufacturing or process technology, with hands-on exposure to automated production systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections of production processes to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor production metrics such as yield (A-rate), repair rate, output performance, fragmentation rate, and overall line efficiency
- Support production teams in meeting quality, safety, and productivity targets
- Identify, document, and report process abnormalities or equipment-related issues
- Assist with basic root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Collect and analyze process data; escalate trends or anomalies to supervisors or engineers as needed
- Follow standardized work instructions and verify proper execution on the production floor
- Assist supervisors and senior technicians with onboarding and training of new operators
- Help reinforce SOP compliance and safe work practices
- Participate in on-site process improvement activities and kaizen initiatives
- Assist with implementation and validation of improvement actions
- Provide suggestions to enhance process stability, safety, and efficiency
- Assist with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) tasks, including order setup, order checks, and production data verification
- Ensure production orders are executed accurately according to system instructions
- Support coordination between production, quality, and engineering teams related to MES issues
Associate's degree or technical certificate in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Electronics, Materials Science, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or technical environment (internship or co-op experience acceptable) Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality concepts Ability to read work instructions, follow procedures, and document results
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering technology, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Technology, or related field Experience in a high-volume, automated, or electronics/solar manufacturing environment Familiarity with MES, ERP, or production tracking systems Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is a plus, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and process discipline Basic problem-solving and analytical skills Good written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word; exposure to PowerPoint preferred) Ability to work effectively in a team-based production environment Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced technical responsibilities
Working ConditionsManufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variation, and automated equipment Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) Ability to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as business needs require
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $48,506.00 - $66,697.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
