Job Summary

The Cast House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing casting, homogenizing, and billet cutting operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This role leads daily shift activities, supports continuous improvement efforts, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The position reports directly to the Cast House Manager.

What you will be doing
  • Leads and supervises day‑to‑day operations within the cast house, including casting, homogenizing, and billet cutting processes.
  • Promotes and enforces a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Makes decisions related to production quality, productivity, maintenance, and safety.
  • Develops and implements action plans to address operational issues and improve performance.
  • Trains and develops employees on safety procedures, quality standards, equipment operation, and production requirements.
  • Leads accident and incident investigations and implements corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identifies and reports unsafe conditions or equipment; determines whether operations can safely continue.
  • Initiates and manages maintenance work orders as needed.
  • Maintains inventory of operational supplies and orders materials as required.

    Operates spectrographic equipment and calculates alloy mixes and additions for production.
  • Ensures proper handling and storage of scrap, logs, and billets to maintain alloy segregation and quality standards.
  • Leads shift operations independently with limited supervision.
What will make you successful? Required Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing or related industrial environment.
  • Ability to lead operations independently and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality system documentation.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high‑temperature environment.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in casting, metals, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and production equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience operating mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts, loaders).
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in a production environment.
