DESCRIPTION:
Aluminum Finishing Expert focus on deburring and post‑machining part refinement
. Must understand a production environment, safety culture, and quality expectations, and is ready to apply their hands‑on finishing expertise to support semiconductor‑grade aluminum component manufacturing. Ensure aluminum components meet the strict cleanliness, precision, and performance standards required for semiconductor equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform detailed deburring of CNC‑machined aluminum parts
, including removal of sharp edges, burrs, tool marks, and micro‑burrs using hand tools, rotary tools, abrasive pads, files, scrapers, and specialty deburring equipment. - Refine and prepare surfaces to meet semiconductor‑grade specifications, including smoothing edges, blending surfaces, and ensuring consistent cosmetic appearance.
- Inspect machined features (chamfers, radii, pockets, threads, sealing surfaces) to verify they meet internal standards before parts move to finishing or cleanroom processing.
- Identify and correct machining‑related defects such as chatter marks, burr buildup, surface inconsistencies, or incomplete toolpath transitions.
- Collaborate with CNC machinists and engineering to communicate recurring burr issues, tolerance concerns, or opportunities to improve manufacturability.
- Perform precision cleaning and pre‑finish preparation
, including degreasing, ultrasonic cleaning, masking, and controlled surface conditioning. - Support anodizing and conversion coating processes by ensuring all parts are properly prepped, free of contamination, and meet surface roughness requirements.
- Use inspection tools such as microscopes, magnifiers, profilometers, calipers, and gauges to verify surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Maintain documentation including part travelers, inspection records, and traceability logs.
- Follow all semiconductor cleanliness and contamination‑control protocols
, leveraging existing knowledge of our facility’s standards. - Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ways to reduce rework, improve consistency, and streamline deburr workflows.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience working within our manufacturing environment or a similar high‑precision production setting.
- Strong hands‑on experience with deburring, edge finishing, and post‑CNC part refinement
. - Ability to work with small, intricate, or tight‑tolerance features common in semiconductor components.
- Familiarity with aluminum machining characteristics, burr formation, and best practices for manual and mechanical deburring.
- Understanding of cleanroom and contamination‑control requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and surface finish specifications.
- High attention to detail, strong hand‑eye coordination, and a commitment to producing defect‑free parts.
- Knowledge of chemical safety, PPE requirements, and safe handling of parts destined for high‑purity processes.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- Experience deburring components used in semiconductor process equipment, vacuum systems, or high‑purity assemblies.
- Familiarity with advanced surface inspection tools or semiconductor‑specific metrology.
- Experience supporting anodizing, conversion coating, or other aluminum finishing processes.
- Background in lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement.
- Ability to train others in deburring techniques and finishing standards.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor, aerospace, precision aluminum hand finishing/Deburr or related manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees at all levels (written and verbal).
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a high‑mix, precision manufacturing environment.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and…
