Innovative Chemical Products Group (ICP Group) is a leading formulator and manufacturer of specialty coatings, adhesives, and sealants serving the construction and industrial end markets. ICP Group manufactures and distributes across North America, Latin America, UK, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The company is headquartered in Andover, MA and has manufacturing and distribution sites globally. ICP Group is seeking a Chemical Operator/Batchmaker.
In this role you will add indicated raw materials to a mixer following a batch instruction sheet with emphasis on quality, following standard operating procedures, and adhering to safety rules and company policies. This position is based in our Phoenix, AZ manufacturing plant.
Shift: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 5:30am - 2:00pm; pay range $21.00 to $22.00/hour with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities- Follows daily scheduled activities as indicated by supervisor.
- Handles chemicals in a safe manner.
- Batching, weighing, and sampling materials.
- Blends and weighs ingredients to the specifications of the SOP.
- Follows standard operating procedures, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintains good housekeeping in the work area and facility.
- Upholds the daily upkeep of the work area and equipment.
- Reports problems or unusual situations to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintains schedule efficiency to meet production demand.
- Maintains close communication with the supervisor and QC technician during the batch process.
- Reports and records inventory movements from each batch on batch sheets.
- Performs periodic sampling for quality control.
- Follows directions from supervisor and/or QC technician to ensure products meet quality standards.
- May assist in general labor tasks as needed and indicated by supervisor.
- May assist in training new personnel on safe operation of mixing equipment.
- Maintains good attendance and punctuality.

- Ability to understand and abide by policies and procedures related to safety, quality, security, and operations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task and monitor multiple processes simultaneously.
- Experience reading and working with SOPs is a plus.
- Experience working with chemicals or light chemical manufacturing is preferred.
- Basic math skills applicable to the work environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and directions.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
- Upon training, demonstrated understanding and competency in safety rules and regulations by assessment.
- Ability to understand and follow posted signage throughout the facility.
- Understanding of lock-out, tag-out procedures.
- Familiarity with SOPs and operator manuals for safe equipment operation.
- Understanding of Hazard Communication policies.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop or kneel; full range of motion.
- Ability to complete repetitive, strenuous work under varying climate conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs safely and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a plant environment with varying temperature and physical requirements.
