Digital Printing Process Machinery Operator Day Shift
Location:
Phoenix, Arizona
At District Photo, we are seeking a Digital Printing Process Machinery Operator Day Shift in our Phoenix factory. The Machine Operator will run and maintain machines that bind printed pages to produce quality products.
Responsibilities- Operates machinery to cut, fold, glue, trim, bind, and finish the final printed product.
- Reads work orders and sets the machine in accordance with job specifications.
- Reviews job requirements to understand the scope and parameters of the project.
- Completes trial runs and evaluates the quality and appearance of the product.
- Adjusts machinery as needed prior to starting the project.
- Inspects and ensures that the machines are in proper working order.
- Maintains inventory of supplies needed to operate the machine.
- Prepares, aligns, and configures machinery, ink, rollers, paper, etc.
- Performs routine maintenance on machines.
- Informs supervisor of problems with equipment or materials.
- Maintains a clean area around machinery.
- Operates or quickly learns to operate various machinery and related software.
- Follows instructions and adheres to safety regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot problems with machinery
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships at various levels
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter who can execute initiatives with minimal guidance
- Reliable transportation
- Extended hours during peak season (Oct-Dec); overtime may be required
- Leadership and decision-making skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Understanding of operations policies and practices
- People management skills and ability to train and direct others
- Effective communicator and active listener
- Flexibility to work any shift
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work as needed, particularly during high-volume periods
- Team player with ability to collaborate with management
- Significant walking, bending, and standing
- Physical activities including reaching, pulling, pushing, gripping, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varied climates (hot and cold)
