About the Team
The Material Planning team plays a critical role in ensuring Lucid’s manufacturing operations have the parts and materials needed to support serial production and new program launches. This includes dedicated planning coverage for powertrain commodities. The team partners closely with Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, Supplier Quality, and a global supplier network to protect production continuity, support launch readiness, and improve supplier delivery performance.
What makes this team unique is its direct connection to daily production execution, new product launch, long-term supply readiness, and cross-functional decision-making across more than 200 Tier 1 suppliers and thousands of parts and components.
Lucid is seeking a Manager, Material Planning Launch & Powertrain Planning to lead material planning for new program launches and to oversee the powertrain planning team, based at Lucid’s manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, AZ or Phoenix, AZ. This role reports to a senior supply chain or materials leadership manager and exists to ensure both new-launch and serial production build requirements are supported through strong material availability, supplier execution, engineering change control, and MRP discipline.
The Manager will lead material readiness for pre-series and launch builds, manage the transition from launch to steady-state production, and direct powertrain planning to protect the supply of critical drivetrain components. This leader will close gaps in supplier performance, material readiness, inventory accuracy, and cross-functional escalation management as Lucid continues to scale production and introduce new the first 12 months, this leader will own improvements in On-Time,In the first 12 months, this leader will own on-time launch material readiness, improvements in On-Time, In-Full performance, powertrain supply continuity, supplier delivery metrics, team operating standards, and communication routines that give the business clear visibility to material and launch risk.
A strong candidate will gain the opportunity to lead material planning at the intersection of luxury electric vehicle production, new product launch, powertrain supply, global supply continuity, and high-volume manufacturing execution.
- Launch & New Program Readiness: Lead material planning for pre-series, launch, and ramp builds; drive on-time material availability for new programs and manage the controlled transition from launch to steady-state serial production.
- Powertrain Planning Oversight: Direct the powertrain planning team to secure the supply of electric drive units, motors, inverters, gearboxes, and related high-voltage components, ensuring capacity, delivery, and inventory align to build demand.
- Material Availability: Lead the Material Planning team to ensure parts and materials required for launch and serial production are available in full and on time.
- MRP Execution: Own MRP operating discipline and ensure Lucid’s production and launch build requirements are accurately communicated to a global supplier network.
- Engineering Change Management: Manage the material impact of engineering changes, running changes, and phase-in / phase-out activity to avoid line-down risk, obsolescence, and excess inventory.
- Supplier Performance: Drive supplier issue resolution and delivery recovery plans to improve On-Time, In-Full performance across critical materials, including long-lead powertrain commodities.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, and Supplier Quality to resolve material constraints and protect production and launch continuity.
- Executive Visibility: Use data to create clear, accurate communications that help leadership understand launch risk, powertrain supply risk, progress, and required decisions.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement projects that improve OTIF, reduce inventory levels, shorten lead times, and strengthen launch and material planning processes.
- Team Standards: Build and develop a high-performing team across launch and powertrain…
