Job Description Responsibilities
- Efficiently plan and direct crew members to maximize daily production.
- Address personnel discrepancies and resolve conflict.
- Issue praise or disciplinary action to employees fairly and consistently when needed.
- Ensure employees following safety practices and are working in a safe manner.
- Monitor machinery and environment for unsafe practices or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure all employees are in compliance with GMP/HACCP procedures.
- Ensure all employees are in compliance with PPE Requirement.
- Follow all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure all SQF requirements are adhered to (e.g., boxes on floor, tape usage, etc.).
- Understand job requirements and be able to perform at IP, PMO Tech, and Print Tech level.
- Record production data accurately.
- Monitor and ensure quality standards are met.
- Monitor and minimize scrap levels.
- Monitor and maximize production flow.
- Hold crew meetings and encourage team building.
- Train one crew member to be a backup Group Leader.
- Maintain employee Kronos, performance, and training records.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine an appropriate action plan.
- Ensure printers are being repaired properly and promptly.
- Monitor and minimize the use of support supplies such as inks, blankets, and rags.
- Communicate effectively with on‑coming Group Leader.
- Ensure communication of Print Technicians to on‑coming Technicians.
- Work with Quality Control to maximize quality and minimize downtime.
- Effectively meet departmental goals of EFF, MEF, and scrap.
- Accountable for the safety of all employees through active engagement in safety activities and clear communication of safe work expectations.
- Support and investigate situations where line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived or imminent safety risk.
- Complete responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures and applicable laws.
- Actively lead risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
- Lead all required safety meetings (e.g., pre‑shift, departmental, change management, general communication, town hall).
- Complete incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees.
- Set goals for their organizational unit and ensure all employees understand and work toward achieving them.
- Motivate and coach employees through good communication, frequent performance feedback, and identify additional training as needed.
- Safety Leadership – Embodies commitment for a safe workplace; acts as a role model on safety leadership, activities and communication.
- Accountability – Holds self‑accountable with a say/do ratio, initiative and ownership actions such as ensuring safety is more important than productivity.
- Communication – Ability to communicate safety, goals and company expectations with appropriate levels of the organization; create clear, timely audience‑appropriate messages.
- Engagement – Communicate and support the vision of plant leadership; celebrate the wins and ensure employees actively participate in safety‑related activities.
- Team Development – Understand development needs of employees; drive a culture of employees as safety leaders; champion talent development from pre‑hire to continuous learning.
- People Agility – Understand personal strengths and weaknesses; lead by example; promote change through listening and seeking frequent input from employees; be genuine, approachable and firm but fair.
- Problem Solving/Conflict Resolution – Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; mitigate relationship conflicts and encourage constructive conflict.
