Grand Canyon University – Intramural Sports Content Creator
Grand Canyon University is seeking a Intramural Sports Content Creator to support the mission of the Campus Recreation department.
Purpose within the OrganizationThe purpose of this position is to assist the Intramural Manager and Intramural Coordinator in working the various programs offered within Intramural Sports.
Responsibilities- Content Creation – develop high‑quality written, visual, and multimedia content for social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters, including posts, articles, videos, graphics, and other media that showcase events, game highlights, player spotlights, and general sports content.
- Event Coverage – attend intramural sports events, capture photo and video footage, provide real‑time updates on social media, conduct interviews with players, coaches, and participants, and create post‑event content such as summaries, highlights, and behind‑the‑scenes stories.
- Collaborations and Partnerships – collaborate with campus organizations, student clubs, and local businesses to cross‑promote events, and build partnerships with influencers or sports personalities to amplify reach.
- Communication – maintain open communication with program coordinators, managers, and participants to stay informed about upcoming events and incorporate feedback into content planning.
- Trend Awareness – keep yourself informed about current social media algorithms, content‑creation best practices, and sports‑marketing trends.
- Equipment – use your own camera, lens, and other equipment; the program will provide minimal editing software.
- Engagement – actively respond to comments, messages, and feedback to foster community and loyalty.
- Audience Understanding – tailor content to the target audience’s interests, preferences, and pain points to improve engagement and retention.
- Proven work experience as a Content Creator or similar role.
- Good leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Genuine interest in serving students.
- Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Enrolled at GCU as a full‑time student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA (Bachelor) or a 3.0 GPA (Master).
- Maintain good financial and academic standing (SAP).
- Applicants may be subject to termination if they fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Expected End Date: June 30, 2027
Employment is contingent upon the satisfactory outcome (as determined by the university) of pre‑employment screening activities, including a background check.
