Position: Marketing - Promo Team Member (NFWS)

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a Promo Team Member to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCE's Marketing department.

The purpose of this position is to support the Marketing Ground Events Team within the Marketing Department by assisting with admissions-focused events that promote Grand Canyon University to prospective high school and transfer students. This role plays a key part in creating welcoming, organized, and engaging event experiences for visitors on campus.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support full‑time Marketing Event Planners with the setup, execution, and breakdown of admissions-focused events.
  • Assist with event logistics, including room setup, moving materials/equipment, signage placement, and event tear‑down.
  • Manage day‑of event operations such as guest check‑in, directional assistance, crowd flow, and hospitality.
  • Create a welcoming and positive experience for prospective students, families, school staff, and visitors while representing GCU in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
  • Serve as event hosts for visiting school groups when needed, helping guide groups and maintain engagement throughout the visit.
  • Communicate effectively with Admissions Counselors, event staff, and other university partners to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Anticipate event needs and proactively assist with problem‑solving in fast‑paced environments.
  • Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and comfortable engaging with large groups and one‑on‑one interactions.
  • Strong work ethic with willingness to perform hands‑on, physically active event work.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail and an eye for event presentation.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and do what is needed to support the team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
Experience & Education
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full‑time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Employment is contingent upon the satisfactory outcome (as determined by the university) of pre-employment screening activities, including a background check.
