Vireo Video is looking for a top-tier You Tube Thumbnail Designer to join our team part-time. You’ll create eye-catching visuals for some of the world’s most innovative brands and thought leaders. If you obsess over what makes people click, understand how to stop the scroll, and have the creative and technical chops to both conceptualize and design expert thumbnails, we want to chat.

• 3+ years of experience designing high-performing You Tube thumbnails. Ideally, for corporate brands (not just creators) across a variety of niches
• Strong technical expertise with Adobe creative suite and other tools that support design
• Deep understanding of click psychology and what drives engagement
• Strong grasp of color theory, composition, and typography
• Always in-the-know on the latest You Tube design trends
• Deeply passionate and knowledgeable about You Tube content and thumbnails
• Fast and efficient without sacrificing quality, delivering polished designs on tight deadlines
• Highly detail orientated and committed to delivering your best work every time
• Can explain design choices clearly and adapt to feedback.
• Self-starter mentality who knows how to prioritize, take initiative, and solve problems
• Dependable, reliable and consistent in all things

• Conceptualize thumbnails that demand attention, spark curiosity, and drive clicks.
• Design and deliver high-impact thumbnails that align with video messaging, content, and tone.
• Collaborate with the client services team to understand briefs, apply brand guidelines, and incorporate feedback effectively.
• Consistently meet deadlines while maintaining top-tier design quality.
• Clearly articulate design decisions, explaining the strategy and thought process behind your thumbnails.
• Respond to internal requests with a service-oriented mindset, ensuring quick turnarounds and precision.
• Prepare multiple thumbnail variants for A/B testing to optimize performance.
• Research industry trends and analyze top-performing thumbnails to inform and refine design strategies.

• The hourly rate for this role varies based on geographical location, experience, and market rates. Our compensation structure considers factors such as local cost of living, industry standards, and the candidate’s level of expertise. Final offers will be made based on these considerations to ensure both fairness and competitiveness.
• If you are based in British Columbia, the rate ranges from $20-35/ hour based on experience

This is a remote role open only to candidates currently based in North America, Central America, or South America. Applicants must be able to maintain working hours that reasonably overlap with Vireo Video’s core business hours in the Pacific Time Zone.
