Manager – External Communications

Responsibilities

• Manage external communications activities that strengthen brand reputation and visibility.
• Manage planning and execution of external communications campaigns across channels.
• Supervise a team of communications professionals, providing direction, feedback, and professional development support.
• Develop and manage media relations strategy, including proactive and reactive communications.
• Oversee editorial planning and content creation processes.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on organizational and regional messaging.
• Track communications performance metrics and provide leadership with insights and recommendations.
• Ensure adherence to brand, legal, and ethical communication standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of experience in communications required.
• 2–3 years in a supervisory capacity required.
• APR or CMP certification preferred.
• Must align communications with business and Communications + Brand strategies.
• Must ensure adherence to brand, legal, and ethical communication standards.

Demonstrates expertise in managing external communications, including campaign planning, media relations, and content creation, while ensuring compliance with brand and legal standards. Proven ability to lead and develop a team of communications professionals and track performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
