About the Role
Pocket FM is seeking a Creative Director to join our Japan Marketing team in a fully remote role based in Japan. This position requires professional fluency in both Japanese and English, as you will create marketing content for Japanese audiences while partnering closely with global teams across Marketing, Creative, Production, Product, and Performance Marketing.
This is a storytelling-first creative leadership role. Unlike traditional marketing roles focused on short-form advertising, Pocket FM’s marketing assets are 30–50 minutes long, requiring the same narrative craft found in television, film, anime, audio drama, and serialized fiction. We’re looking for someone with a professional screenwriting background who understands how to sustain audience engagement through strong hooks, character development, emotional escalation, pacing, dialogue, and cliffhangers.
As the Creative Director, you’ll lead the creative vision, writing, localization, and optimization of promotional campaigns for the Japanese market. You’ll manage writers, editors, and creative collaborators while remaining deeply hands-on in developing scripts, story structures, messaging, and creative direction that keep audiences engaged from beginning to end and inspire them to discover the full series.
This is an ideal opportunity for a creative leader with experience in television, film, anime, audio fiction, gaming, publishing, advertising, or digital media who loves storytelling and wants to shape how millions of people discover their next favorite story.
