Change.org is searching for a Campaigns Communication Specialist (Fixed term through Dec. 18, 2026) to help drive and secure media coverage for the big, brand-defining campaigns led by our users. You will report to our Senior Communications Manager and be a key member of our Communications team — identifying strong campaigns for email, social media, and press experimentation; staying on top of compelling issues and news stories for campaign selection and escalation;
drafting brand emails for a wide audience; and using media to drive campaign impact, victory, and brand awareness.
Change.org is the world’s largest platform for democracy. This includes our platform for giving people greater voice, a personalized voter guide for elections, and a new product which aims to bring people across the political spectrum together to identify shared solutions.

Key OutcomesIdentify strong campaigns for our team to test over email, social, and press.
Use media to drive campaign impact, victory, and brand awareness — including pitching press, building reporter lists, and suggesting stories for social media.
Support petition starters in driving their campaigns to victory and talking to press about their campaign.
Write brand emails that perform well across Change.org’s email audience.
Stay on top of compelling issues and news stories to inform campaign selection and escalation.
Strong writing skills
, with experience writing press pitches, marketing emails, and social content.Proven track record landing media hits, including top-tier digital and print publications.
Robust relationships with journalists and influencers who can help tell Change.org’s brand story.
Experience building media strategies that successfully drive brand awareness.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapid-response environment.
A strong sense of what petitions will perform well on social media.
Willingness to work across differences, including supporting policy-compliant campaigns you may not personally agree with, in keeping with Change.org’s commitment to being an open platform.
3–6 years working in organizing or campaigning
5+ years working in communications
This is a full-time, fixed-term, remote role based in the United States, running through December 18, 2026

Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are determined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale, and the cost of labor for that location. The salary for this role in San Francisco or New York City is $121,500, in Austin, Boston, Chicago, DC, LA, Seattle is $115,500.
In all other US locations it is $103,500.
