Position Summary
Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs. GCU maintains a partnership with Saving Amy located at 3117 N.
44th Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85018. Saving Amy provides mentoring, supportive programs, and financial support to homeless/unhoused. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Saving Amy; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring). This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34

CFR
675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low‑income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community. As an FWS‑CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non‑GCU community members (i.e., local residents).

- Oversee programs including scheduling, communicating with volunteers and participants, and tracking program metrics.
- Plan and coordinate program‑specific events/activities.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with community partners.
- Provide administrative support.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
- Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
- Previous mentoring experience a plus.
- Ability to speak a second language a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation.
All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full‑time student in a bachelor’s program or master’s program.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
