Manager of Programs & Events (Full-time)
Honoring America's Veterans is seeking a mission-driven Manager of Programs and Events to help plan, coordinate, and deliver HAV's veteran-focused programs and signature events. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, collaborative, comfortable engaging with community partners, being out in public, and passionate about honoring veterans and their families.
LocationPhoenix, AZ; currently, the organization operates in a virtual environment, with needed in-person capacity at programs and events.
TravelMaricopa County, Arizona. A valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
HoursFull-time salaried, with flexible hours within a normal workday timeframe.
Reports ToExecutive Director (CEO)
SupervisesNo direct reports; will need to work collaboratively with 1099 contractors
Salary/Comp$65,000 per year
Position SummaryThe Manager of Programs & Events supports HAV's mission by coordinating programs, events, sponsor/donor support, volunteer engagement, and communications tied to HAV's annual calendar. Working closely with the Executive Director/CEO, this position helps ensure programs are successfully executed and delivered on schedule, participants and partners are supported, and events are delivered with professionalism and care.
Primary Responsibilities Program & Event Management (50%)- Coordinate HAV programs, commemorative events, and community initiatives from planning through execution, including timelines, logistics, agendas, meetings, follow-up, record-keeping, and day-of support.
- Coordinate volunteers, vendors, committees, speakers, event participants, and supporters, including registration materials, day-of check-in, participant needs, and pre-event communication.
- Ensure sponsor recognition and fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Support ED in stewardship of donors, sponsors, and community partners by maintaining accurate records, assisting with recognition and appreciation efforts, and helping prepare impact, grant, or sponsorship materials as needed.
- Working collaboratively with ED, create and coordinate program and event communications, including newsletters, email updates, flyers, social media content, website updates, blogs, organizational news, promotional materials, and event announcements, ensuring materials reflect HAV's mission, brand, and messaging.
- Provide administrative and project support for programs, committees, organizational calendars, records, meeting materials, and special projects related to programs, partnerships, sponsor ships, and mission delivery.
- Support ED in developing community partnerships with aligned organizations, including veterans service organizations, nonprofit partners, educational partners, and other groups connected to HAV programs and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Commitment to organizational values and goals; ability to professionally represent HAV as a steward of its mission.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with appropriate guidance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in program management, event coordination, and execution.
- Strong written, verbal, customer service, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work well with staff, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and community members.
- Experience supporting program development, coordination, and delivery in a nonprofit, community, veteran-serving, or event-focused setting.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, databases or record systems, and basic website content management tools such as Word Press, a CMS, or comparable platforms.
